The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook
by Peter M. Senge, Art Kleiner, Charlotte Roberts, Rick Ross, Bryan Smith

This book is an excellent guide for  change agents,  trainers and  leaders, but I have found it good for facilitators as well.  The fieldbook is as expected, full of tools and tips on how and when to use them. This is not a cover to cover read- it is designed so that you can dive in anywhere in the book and  come out feeling refreshed and invigorated.

This is a must have book for facilitators. One of the classics in the field . This book is  an in depth look at facilitation - for facilitators.  More than  just techniques, this book explores concepts  and the reasoning behind them.

Facilitator's Guide to Participatory Decision-Making

This is another classic.  Sam Kaner is  well known to professional facilitators. A regular presentor at International Association of Facilitator conferences, his approach has become one of the stalwart foundations in the art of facilitation.  Going beyond  convergent and divergent process, Kaner introduces the "Groan Zone" .  He demands more from facilitators than the application of technique.
